If you are tired of seeing your Betta fish dying one after another? I know the feeling, because I was there. After purchasing your betta fish live only a few days and then die. I was very sad and depressed at the sight. This is when I went to ask a friend who runs an online store for help. Without a doubt, I said what I needed at that time. There are two things that have an important role in the care of a betta fish. The food andwater change. If you successfully manage to balance these two things then you will be providing the best possible environment for your bettas.

Feeding your bettas

It is important that you do not overfeed your fish if you want them to stay in good conditions. You should remove any excess food in order to avoid them from deteriorating the water quality. Many people neglect this and leave the fish swimming in cloudy water. This is indeed the first thing You need to put in practice when it comes to Betta fish.

Water quality

You need to regularly change the water dish to make in excess nitrates that have accumulated in recent days to remove. Ideally, every 4-5 days will be made. This will give the clear water of fish can live. There is nothing difficult Betta fish care, if only you know the tips. Most pet store employees are too busy to offerthis information and this is the reason why many people lose their bettas.

Breeding Barb Fish

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The barb group of fish is quite large and the different species vary in their breeding requirements. However, there are some things in common, so I will attempt to put these together and give a generalised description of Barb breeding.

Barbs are egg scatterers; they prefer to scatter their eggs over plants. Most of them come from soft acidic water. The most suitable temperature for breeding varies with the species. Barbs rend to be ravenous eaters of fish eggs and fry.

A suitable breeding tank set up will need to take these things into account. Generally, the breeding tank should have soft, slightly acidic water. There will need to be some fine leaved plants like Java Moss for the fish to lay their eggs over. And of course, the parents need to be removed after spawning. This is an overview of the most common set up for breeding barbs, but there are other ways.

If you have enough space, it is possible to get some babies by simply having the parents in a large, very well planted aquarium with no other fish.

Some barbs are spawning regularly in aquariums without their owners being aware of it. There have been occasions when I have moved barbs out of a tank and have baby fish appear a week or so later!

Some commercial barbs are bred in ponds. Naturally you would need the right climate for this, but my observation is that in ponds, fish can sometimes take lower temperatures than you would expect from experience with these fish in aquariums. Also, remember that it is possible to breed the barbs just over summer and take out the babies before the cold weather comes.

Before you consider actually attempting to breed barbs, you will need to research the requirements for the actual species of barb you are going to try to breed.

Unusual Fish Tanks

Image : http://www.flickr.com

When you are selecting a fish tank for your home, you will likely want to find one that has a pleasing form as well as a competent function. Long ago, your only options in fish tanks would have been straight, rectangular tanks, or small round tanks. How boring! So many people still consider these as their options for fish tanks, but as someone looking to not only adopt a new pet but also create a unique focal point, you will want to consider unusual fish tanks as an option for your home.

There are so many different options you can consider in unusual fish tanks. One of the first options you can consider is an unusual size for a fish tank. The two most popular sizes remain a large rectangle and a small round. Think beyond these options! Are you interested in only having one tiny fish? Do you perhaps only have a very small space that you can fill in your home with a fish tank? Why not consider a micro mini fish tank that gives enough space for a tiny fish to inhabit and will become a conversation piece for your home. If you would like a round fish tank, perhaps you should consider forgoing the typical small size and instead look into a large round tank. This will allow you to raise a larger amount of fish while the tank itself becomes a fixture in your home. There are so many different sizes tha unusual fish tanks come in for you to consider.

Another option you can consider in unusual fish tanks is the shape of the tank itself. Forget round and rectangular! What about selecting an eight-sided fish tank that may fit well with your modern furniture? The fish won't be upset by the additional sides they encounter and your guests will be delighted with its appearance. How about looking at unusual fish tanks that start out as one shape at the base but come up to a decoratively different shape at the top? Art deco and fish tanks are a great combination and by keeping an open mind, you will find that there are many unusual fish tanks that you can choose between for your home.

You can also choose between tank color options when selecting from unusual fish tanks for your home. Think that clear glass or acrylic is "been there, done that"? Then don't! Instead, look to fish tanks that utilize either soothing pastel colors or vivid and bold colors to make a personal statement for your home. You can even consider unusual fish tanks that combine various colors throughout the tank itself. Again, don't worry that this will disturb the fish that you adopt. They will adapt and you will have a piece of art in addition to a great home for your new pets. You can express not only your interest in fish by adding one or a few to your home, but also your own particular style through the unusual fish tanks that you select between.
